Subject design and management
- Setting up your subject
- LMS subjects and communities are provided with a basic default template which is fully customisable. Staff members may choose from a variety of design options, and can also add other staff users to a subject.
- LMS subject banner creation tool
- The LMS subject banner creation tool allows you to dynamically construct a banner which you can upload into your LMS subject. Once uploaded, the banner will appear at the top of the Announcements page.
- Staff roles and management
- Teaching and support staff may be added to an LMS subject in one of a variety of defined roles.
- Guest access
- Subject coordinators may elect to make part or all of their subject site acessible by the general public by using the guest access function of the LMS.
- External users
- Users without a University of Melbourne username may be added to the student/participant list of a subject/community.
- Subject lifecycle
- Subject and community sites are not automatically saved or 'rolled-over' in the LMS from one semester to subsequent semesters. There are several actions you can take as a subject coordinator in the LMS to preserve your subject site for future re-use.
