Getting Started
Get a Student View account
A Student View account is a highly recommended aid to your online teaching.
Unimelb staff may apply for a Student View account on the LMS. A Student View account allows you to view your subjects and communities in the role of a student, so that you see the subject from the student’s perspective. This is useful to test that all elements of LMS subjects are ready for students to access. Your Student View account is automatically added to any subjects and communities in which you have a staff role.
Once you have a Student View account, you can log in to the LMS with the username provided on account creation (it will be sv.____) and a password of your own choosing.
Your LMS subject/s and communities must be available to students or you will not be able to access them through your Student View account.
Student View account surnames are given the prefix "zz_" (eg zz_Smith) to ensure that all Student Views appear at the end of the Grade Centre and subject/community student lists, to keep Student View accounts separated from enrolled students.
Create a Student View; or reset the Student View password:
Creating a Student View account or resetting the password typically takes up to an hour to process and apply to LMS subjects.
