Browser cache

If pages in the LMS are not displaying correctly, it may be due to an issue with your browser cache. In most cases, emptying your cache and quitting/restarting your browser session will fix the problem. Using the recommended settings may avoid further problems.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the General tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. In the Temporary Internet files section, click Delete Cookies and Delete Files. A confirm dialog will display, click OK to proceed with the action.
  4. Click OK to save and close the window.
  5. Close all active Internet Explorer windows.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the General tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. In the Browsing history section, click Delete. The Browsing History screen will display.
  4. Click Delete Files (in the Temporary Internet Files section) and Delete Cookies (in the Cookies section). A confirm dialog will display for each action, click Yes to proceed with the action.
  5. Click Close to close the window.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Select the Advanced option.
  3. In the Cache section, click Clear Now.
  4. Click OK to save and close the window.

Safari for Macintosh

  1. Select Empty Cache from the Safari menu. A confirm dialog will display.
  2. Click Empty to proceed with the action.

Recommended browser cache settings

Follow the steps below to change your cache settings to those recommended for the LMS. Note: these settings are the default on most computers and you should only need to change them if you are experiencing difficulties seeing the most current version of a page.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the General tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. In the Temporary Internet files section, click Settings.
  4. Select the Automatic radio button.
  5. Click OK to save and close each window.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the General tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. In the Browsing history section, click Settings.
  4. Select the Automatic radio button.
  5. Click OK to save and close the window.
