Enabling Java

Some parts of the LMS require Java to be enabled in your browser. It is recommended that you have Java 1.5.

If you do not have Java on your computer, you can download it from the Sun web site.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. Select the Internet zone by clicking the world icon.
  4. Click the Custom Level button.
  5. Scroll down to Microsoft VM and Java Permissions and select the appropriate radio button for your preferred safety setting.
  6. Click OK to save and close each window.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Programs tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
  3. In the Manage Add-Ons section, click Manage add-ons.
  4. Select the Java Plug-in option and click the Enable radio button.
  5. Click OK to save and close the window.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Select the Content options by clicking the world icon.
  3. Check the Enable Java checkbox.
  4. Click OK to save and close the window.

Safari for Macintosh

  1. Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
  2. Click the Security tab by clicking the lock icon.
  3. Check the Enable Java checkbox.
  4. Close the window.
